This recent tag by Chelsea Creature (one of the pattern designers who contributed to our book!) and her friend Meg reminded me that I’ve been meaning to buy a stitch dictionary. I like this tag because it uses simple colour blogs, but has a variety of stitch patterns.
I’ve been thinking of investing in something like the Vogue Stitchionary Series. Does anyone out there have it? What do you think about it?
I’d love recommendations for other stitch pattern books if you have them!

Oh – that is a lovely knit up – I am very impressed by the use of the stitch work – up until know, I hadn’t thought about adding that to the knitting anarchy I have just recently been getting up to (the whole cafe I love is bombing a tree with me this Sat!)
I have the Vogue Stitch Dictionary, and a score of others, some of my favorites being one that was printed by Nomis and is now long out of print. I use them all – all of the time! They are great for inspiration – I like to make a lot of my own patterns, so these books are great tools. The size of the Vogue Stitch book is rather handy – long and rectangular – doesn’t take up too much space should you need to take it with you on the road to another yarn bomb!
I do like this, and especially since I can’t do this kind of stitchery, so I appreciate and enjoy it when I see it.
The Harmony Guides are excellent…
Hi Lady P and Shula,
Thanks for the recommendations – I will have to check them out! L.
Great blog! How does one send you photos? My group and I have recently put up some sweet graf and I would love to share it!
