It’s been a busy couple of weeks at the Yarn Bombing headquarters – Mandy and I have had a flurry of writing sessions, photo shoots and general admin work about our book. I had a nice interview with the women of Masquerade a few weekends back – it was great to chat with them and hear their perspective about how knit graffiti is spreading around the world. If you are in Sweden, Masquerade is having an exhibition at Djur i centrum, on art in the public space. The show is at the Stockholms läns museum, Sickla from September 13th to November 23rd.
As my most of attention has been on completing the book, in lieu of a long blog post, here are some new(ish) yarn bombing links:

Aliza of DIY Baltimore has started an interesting discussion on Craftster on whether or not a knit tag attracts other forms of graffiti aka the Broken Window Theory. You can find it here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=267708.0
The Ladies Fancywork Society has been busy knitting red, white, and blue stars to promote the US Democratic National Convention in Denver. Read the article here: http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2008/aug/25/dnc-twist-august-25/
I just discovered Outdoor Knit. She has the best blog header ever!

And one last shocking discovery – you can actually buy stock photographs of yarn graffiti. Anyone recognize this tag? I wonder if it belongs to MicroFibreMilitia.
Tha mouse just cracks me up!!!!! I love what everyone is doing.
In ref to your shocking discovery. We saw some cards in a local shop with images of our knit graffiti ( we were not credited though).
Wow – knit graffiti merchandise? Who knew? That’s too bad you didn’t get credit for your work – any chance you could get in touch with the photographer?
I think my friend is going to email the photographer and ask if they would credit our work on the back of the card.
Thanks for the photo credit! (jafabrit I hope you get yours!). I was so excited by the response to my post, I wasn’t expecting to spark such intense discussion! The mouse is resting now, but I hope to have him back up in the area soon. I’ll let you know!
Hey… glad ya found us! And thanks for the comment about the header… was fortunate the wind died down long enough to set it up. hehe.
Can’t wait to hear more about your book
