Yarn Bombing.com is a web history of the knit graffiti movement. The site was started in 2008 by two knitters, Mandy Moore and Leanne Prain, who live in Vancouver, Canada.
Arsenal Pulp Press published our book Yarn Bombing: The Art of Knit Graffiti (Fall 2009). This blog was a chronicle of our research into knit (and crochet) graffiti groups from around the world and evolved into a site where Leanne posted updates about the yarn bombing movement until December 2012. While we do not update the site regularly anymore, we love to hear from subversive crafters and can be contacted through the contact form on this site.
A bit about Leanne and Mandy:
A graduate of the Alberta College of Art and Design, Mandy Moore now lives in Vancouver, BC with her small family of husband and cat. She was the technical editrix of popular online knitting magazine Knitty.com, and of various other knitting and crochet books and publications. She is a hardcore making-things evangelist, and will probably try to convince you that you should try (knitting, crocheting, sewing, painting) too!
Upon learning to knit, Leanne Prain co-founded a stitch and bitch called Knitting and Beer in order to expand her skills while knitting at the pub. While the group has disbanded, she continues to be amazed at what can be created with two needles and a bit of yarn. In 2011, Leanne wrote a second DIY book for Arsenal Pulp Press on unconventional embroidery called Hoopla: The Art of Unexpected Embroidery. She has several other blogs, including an author site at leanneprain.com which she updates with crafty content.

We were honoured to have our first yarn bombing last week we had ducks on the bridge at Carshalton Ponds- they got into the local Guardian paper- by this week they were all gone though
We had some crocheting delinquents ‘attack’ our city during winter! We LOVE it!
